Q2 Updates- All Hands Call

The Board of Directors hold quarterly strategic planning sessions in order to evaluate the progress of the organization, leverage successes to create a roadmap for increased growth, innovation and deeper opportunities of engagement for our members. The following are highlights of Q2, our current status, and our priorities: 


Highlights of Q2

-Redesigned monthly newsletter “Elevate”: featuring educational articles from Practitioner members, upcoming events, new podcast link, chapter updates and “Make Some Noise” section for exciting member news.

 Analytic highlights: Deliverable rate: 98%, click rate 22%, open rate 6.5%. Stay informed of what’s happening at SES….check out the newsletter!

-Released 2021 Sponsorship Proposal- comprehensive opportunities for strategic engagement with partners of all sizes 

-Lion Partners program- exclusive offerings for partners under $10M in revenue

-Increased security measures for new members registered on SES platform.
Result: increase of a safer user experience, reduction in fake accounts, spam mail, inappropriate posts on the Discussion boards.
Please note: approval process of new members can 15-30 days.

-Website upgrade- Homepage has been updated with new information. Working towards a rebrand in Q4 and the launch of a new community site and discussion board. 

-Social media: focus remains on growing our community on LinkedIn

Analytic highlights: 

17,570 followers – average 100 new members per month! 

LinkedIn Group: 3,416 members 

Engagement rate (clicks, likes, comments, shares, follows) on SES Linked Page is highest amongst similar organizations in the SE space. SES has maintained 8.45% in the last 30 days compared to average of 5.23% across other orgs. 


-Engagement and growth on LinkedIn are vital for our SES community and for partnerships that can help fund us to drive more resources for our members.

-Pre-production has started on the SES & Johns Hopkins University- Carey Business School Sales Enablement Education and Certification Project. We are creating the first-ever sales enablement educational offerings- Foundational Course and Advanced Learning. Estimated launch by Q4

Priorities for Q2

Stronger operational support for our Chapter Leaders to create more efficiencies and enable chapter growth: 

- New Chapter Kit coming soon (redesigned version of the former “launch kit”) 

-Streamlining process for posting calendar events, getting community site posted, etc

-Chapter Leaders Forum on the Discussion Board- moving towards using that as the main form of communication. Moving away from group emails. 

-Currently updating the Chapter Leaders list – a lot of movement in the last 12 months 

-Survey to be released to gauge quarterly meeting activity at each chapter level 

-Will be launching a Chapter Kick Off week in the Fall for in person (or virtual where necessary) meeting. More info to follow.

-Increased visibility and opportunities for thought leadership for members
-SES Blog- Opportunity will be open first to Chapter Leaders for guest blog contributions. 

-SES newsletter- opportunities to submit articles will be open to practitioners 

-“Make Some Noise” section of newsletter - recognition of members 

SES 2021 Experience: Annual Conference:

-Thank you all who participated in the survey. We received 145 responses. Your feedback was highly valuable in helping us determine the direction of this event.

-Based on the responses received, the conference will be live in person September 29th-Oct.1st in Atlanta, Georgia with live streaming of certain portions of the conference. We are prioritizing finding exciting, innovative ways to foster high connection and engagement for our global community both in person and online during the conference.

Results of the survey:
-78% reside in the US, 22% reside outside the US

-92% are members of SES, 7% non-members planning to join soon

-69% Practitioners, 15% Consultants, 8.4% Technology providers

-53% have attended the conference in the past, 47% have not 

-42% planning to travel for business in 2021, 29% don’t know, 29% will not 

-91% of those who cannot travel due to company restrictions would attend virtually 

-43% will possibly attend the conference in Atlanta as a live event, 29% are planning to attend, 27% do not plan on attending 

-Of those who responded “possibly” or “no” to the previous question, 56% are concerned about Covid, 42% have travel freezes at their company, 27% have no budget for cost of travel 

-91% of those unable to attend in person would live stream the conference with Videos on Demand option
